In some cases the computer may have another USB device driver set up that is impeding the ability of the Silhouette to properly connect.As another new window pops up, select the Driver tab.As a new window pops up, in the General tab select the « Change Settings» option.Right-click on the “ Unknown/Unspecified Device”.Locate the device labeled « Unspecified» to check if the machine is registering as “ USB Printing Support”.Go to the Start menu > Devices and Printers.If all connections are secure and set up properly, then the most common concern may be that the Silhouette is not being recognized as a USB device by the computer.Ensure there is a direct connection between the Silhouette and the computer tower/laptop ( rather than running the USB cord through a hub or monitor/keyboard USB port, etc).While other cords may appear to fit, Silhouette America cannot guarantee proper operation with other components. Ensure the original USB cord received with the Silhouette is in use.if a port on the front of the computer was previously attempted, try using one on the back of the computer or visa-versa). If this is initially unsuccessful, attempt to use an alternate USB port on the computer ( i.e. Ensure that the USB cord is firmly plugged into the Silhouette on one end and then into the computer’s USB port on the other. Fully unplug the Silhouette’s USB cord from the computer and then reconnect it anew in order to confirm this connection.Power off the Silhouette and then back on as the Send to Silhouette screen is being viewed in order to confirm if the connection can be properly found when doing so. Ensure that the Silhouette is powered on.The following steps can be taken to explore this issue and have it resolved:
